ABOUT US

Our Conductor
Rob Kinnear

Known for instructing and inspiring players to perform beyond their usual level of technical ability, it has often been said that "Rob gets 110%" out of any group he conducts. To each rehearsal, Rob brings the benefits of a diverse musical background and a talent for helping players to visualize and communicate the composer's intent.

Our History
Since 1974

The Caledon Concert Band began with an advertisement placed in the Caledon Citizen newspaper in 1974 calling together area musicians for a rehearsal at Ellwood Public School. We started with a couple of violin players, a guitar, a handful of brass instrument players and a bass drum, salvaged from the ashes of the Bolton Arena that had burned down in the early 1970's.

For over 40 years, the Caledon Concert Band has been a great attraction at fairs, farmers’ markets, parades, civic events, memorials, openings and fundraisers.  As a truly inter-generational ensemble with an eclectic repertoire, the Caledon Band presents programs that appeal to all segments of the population.

Rehearsals and Membership

The Caledon Concert Band Association welcomes new members to join us at any rehearsal, year round. We practice at The Caledon East Community Complex every Wednesday night from 7:30 to 10:00 pm with a short break mid-rehearsal to recharge and socialize. Please arrive a few minutes beforehand and our band members will make you feel welcome and help you fit right in.
